The Power of Your Thoughts

Updated: Oct 19, 2020

About how to create new thought patterns and reprogram your subconscious mind. And about how a wonderful video demo can help you to understand it.

What You Think You Become

“Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve”, Napoleon Hill once said. “The mind is everything. What you think, you become”, Buddha taught. For sure you’ve heard high-minded quotes like these before.

But do you believe this is true for YOU? The famous Napoleon Hill and the wise “Lord Buddha”, as the Sri Lankans call this enlightened man, well, for sure this was possible for them. But for me? For anybody? And if so, how can I really start? Start to achieve my goals. Start to become what I’m dreaming of? Why is there always something holding me back?

Growth Mindset Versus Fixed Mindset

It starts also here with your thoughts and your beliefs. Do you believe you can change or do you rather believe, that you can’t, are not good enough, don’t deserve to be… And why is that so?

Stanford psychologist Professor Carol Dweck found that some people have a “fixed mindset” and believe that they cannot change their capabilities. Other people have a “growth mindset.” The growers believe they can work toward improving themselves. It’s also been shown that if, before taking an IQ test, people read an article saying that IQ is changeable instead of fixed based on genes, their IQ scores improve.

Subconscious And Conscious Mind

Knowing about different mindsets now, let’s also look at the subconscious and conscious mind. Even if you’re not believing in spirituality, there is proof by Quantum Physics and Epigenetic giving you some good impression:

> It is a fact that every human is downloading programs during the first seven years like

in hypnosis. By observing parents, siblings and community members.

> Downloaded programs are stored in the subconscious mind.

> 95% of your life you are running on these programs.

> 5% of your daily life you are using your conscious mind, which is creative.

> If you are not aware of it, you even could say that your life is “being lived”, even though

you think you’re living your life.

> Wherever you’re struggling, inevitably there’s a program in your subconscious that

doesn’t support that destination you are looking for.

Reprogramming Your Mind

This is still not giving me any idea about HOW I can change myself. And if my mind is a fixed one, then what? Shall I give up? No! All of us can reprogram our minds.

The question is: how does the subconscious learn? It’s not creative like the conscious mind, right? The subconscious mind learns in two fundamental ways:

1. With hypnosis - like during the first seven years)

2. With repetition – after the age of seven

For the second option exists this wonderful phrase: Fake it til you make it. Meaning, if you want to be a happy person, go ahead and repeat daily “I am happy”. Do this daily, make it a habit, for at least three weeks and observe what is happening.

To have a look at this idea of repetition in another format, I recommend you to watch this wonderful short video from Dr. Bruce Lipton & ‘AfterSkool’.

Creating Your Heaven On Earth

What areas of your life do you like to move from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset? Which belief system you like to modify? How would your personal “heaven on earth” look like?

Notes & Gratitude

To Bruce Lipton, who showed me with his knowledge, that I am NOT the victim of my genes ;-).

Thanks to all of you for taking the time to read this article. I hope you liked it. Have a look at the mentioned video. Especially if you are a visual person, this will really stick in your mind and help you to understand your mind a little bit better. Enjoy “creation place”, as Bruce Lipton did say ;-).

Namaste and all the very best,

If we could get your subconscious mind to agree with your conscious mind about being happy, that's when your positive thoughts work. - Bruce Lipton
